Demand for memory chips remains strong, pushing the company's preliminary operating profit to 107.4 trillion South Korean won, CNBC reports.
This is the first time operating profit has exceeded 100 trillion won, and it represents a 782 percent increase compared with the same period last year.
Samsung Electronics is the world's largest manufacturer of memory chips and continues to benefit from increased demand from AI companies.
