The 33-year-old midfielder has played abroad for the past 12 years, most recently at Karagümrük in Turkey. The contract with Gothenburg runs until 2028.
"I come here in a position where I can give back to IFK Göteborg and at the same time play an important role in helping the team move up the table. Everyone who knows me knows that I have very high goals and demands - both on myself and those around me, and therefore this step is a very good fit now," Larsson tells the club's website.
IFK Göteborg will host Brommapojkarna on Friday. Ahead of the match against BP, “Blue White” is in 14th place in the Allsvenskan table, one point behind Örgryte in the relegation play-off spot and four behind second-placed Halmstad.
