It was on the way home from the relegation qualifying match against Sampdoria that several from the squad began to feel unwell. When the team landed at the airport in Salerno, several ambulances were waiting to be able to drive the affected to the hospital.
According to AFP, the police have visited the hotel in Genoa where the team lived and ate before the match against Sampdoria.
”We are very concerned about what happened and which risks weakening our chances to meet the end of the season in a normal way”, the club writes.
The return match in Salerno is planned to be played on Friday but the home team has asked to have it moved.
