The alarm about the accident came at eleven o'clock on Saturday morning, when passers-by discovered a stranded person waving on a skerry, writes the local newspaper Nyheter STO.
When the Sea and Air Rescue Center arrived at the scene, the person had been on the skerry for seven hours without being able to raise the alarm. Next to the skerry, a mast and sail from a boat were visible sticking out of the water.
The skerry was inaccessible to boats and the helicopter had to winch up the person who was later flown to the hospital for check-up and care. The person had been on the skerry since four o'clock in the morning, says the operations manager at the Sea and Air Rescue Center, JRCC, to the newspaper.
