Swedish golfer Madelene Sagström has dropped off the pace ahead of the decisive round in the PGA Championship and now trails leading South Korean Amy Yang by six strokes.
Sagström carded a 73 in the third round of the women's third major of the year, one over par, with five bogeys and four birdies. She now lies in a tie for 12th place with a total of –1.
The Swede is chasing her first major title of her career. The 31-year-old has been playing on the LPGA tour since 2017 and has only won once, at the Gainbridge LPGA in 2020.
The goal ahead of the third round was not to get too frustrated.
You're going to hit bad shots, you're going to hit good shots, you can hit birdies but probably bogeys too, Sagström said to lpga.com before teeing off.
Further down the leaderboard are Swedes Linn Grant (+1), Maja Stark (+4) and Frida Kinhult (+6).
