On Friday, the final section of the cross on the church's central tower was put in place. That means the church, which is the world's tallest church, is now 172.5 meters high.
The church, designed by architect Antoni Gaudí, began construction in 1882. Construction has been delayed by world wars, funding shortages and the pandemic, among other things.
Although construction has now reached its full height, it is expected to take another ten years before the church is fully completed.
Sagrada Familia had approximately 4.8 million visitors in 2024.
