The song of the year is the audience award, where P3 listeners vote for the winner. Other nominees this year included Tjuvjakt & Fanny Avonne with "Tusen spänn", Zara Larsson with "Midnight Sun" and Hurula with "Ett annat språk".
"All the nominated songs are so incredibly great and it's music and artists that I listen to myself. I'm very touched; I don't know if I understand that I won," says Ida-Lova after the lights went out on stage.
Ida-Lova is 21, the daughter of comedian Christine Meltzer, and participated in Melodifestivalen 2023 with "Låt hela stan se på". She premiered "Svagare än jag" at Allsång på Skansen this summer, and the song then reached number one on Svensktoppen.
Maggio without a prize
Big favorites for P3 Guld were Viagra Boys and Veronica Maggio, who had each been nominated for three awards, but Maggio had to leave the gala without a prize. However, she presented the award to the Artist of the Future.
It went to Saga Faye, who said it was fantastic to receive the award from one of her big idols.
"It feels like the circle is complete. Veronica Maggio was one of the first concerts I attended when I was fourteen at Gröna Lund," she says.
Saga Faye had her breakthrough last year, with her debut single "Who are you?" - which she also performed live.
I didn't know I would win, but I actually thought it would have been crazy if they'd asked me to sing right after I didn't win a prize, she says.
"Who are you?" was also nominated in the song of the year category.
Håkan Hellström and Viagra Boys were snubbed for best album of the year. Instead, it went to Anna von Hausswolff for the critically acclaimed "Iconoclasts".
Kite wins Live Act of the Year
The Golden Microphone, the award for the year's best live performance, went to Kite. The band was responsible for one of last year's most spectacular concerts with the ice show "Kite on ice" in the Avicii Arena.
The Artist of the Year category was won by Viagra Boys. The band received one of P3 Guldgalan's biggest prizes, in competition with Veronica Maggio, Zara Larsson and The Hives, but were unable to attend to receive the award themselves.
Christopher Garplind hosted P3 Guld for the second year in a row and started the evening at Cirkus in Stockholm with jokes about Yasin's tax scam, Måns Zelmerlöw's drug conviction and the "Chrippa" trial. He also lamented that P3 Guld is not broadcast on television but only on Sveriges Radio.
