The 21-year-old Czech player shook Sabalenka up considerably and led 4-2 in the tiebreak after breaking serve.
Then the Belarusian showed her class, fought back and took her 19th consecutive victory at Flushing Meadows, where she won in both 2024 and 2025.
"I pushed myself to the limit, especially in the third set. I thought the match was over," she says.
Sabalenka has not lost at Flushing Meadows since the 2023 final against Coco Gauff and could become the first since Serena Williams to win the title three years in a row. Williams has won the US Open a total of six times.
The semifinals will feature the winner of the all-American quarterfinal match between Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro.
