Saab signs agreement with CAE ahead of possible Gripen deal in Canada

The memorandum of understanding will enable cooperation on the training of fighter pilots and technicians in Canada, CAE said in a press release.

“Saab's strategy has always been to build real capacity in the countries where we operate,” says Micael Johansson, CEO of Saab.

Gripen is one of the possible options as Canada expands and renews its fleet of fighter jets. The Canadian government has considered, among other things, a mixed fleet of both Gripen and American F-35s, CBC News reported in June, citing sources.
