An Indian defense procurement council wants to see the purchase of the Rafale fighter jet from France's Dassault Aviation, Dagens Industri reports, citing a press release from the Indian government.

This represents a major step towards securing a contract in India worth over SEK 300 billion.

India's procurement of new fighter jets has been ongoing since 2018, and Saab has been one of the bidders, recently offering to produce customized versions of the Gripen E in India.
