The test flight took place in Linköping on Friday morning and lasted 40 minutes. At the controls were Saab's chief test pilot, Jakob Högberg, and Brazilian Air Force test pilot Lieutenant Colonel Abdon de Rezende Vasconcelos.

"It is designed to accelerate pilot training and improve operational capability in advanced combat missions," Lars Tossman at Saab says in a press release.

The aircraft has been developed as part of a strategic partnership between Sweden and Brazil, which has entered into an agreement to purchase 36 Gripen E/F models and has expressed a desire to buy an additional 20 Gripen aircraft.
