The agreement provides a framework for possible production at aircraft manufacturer Embraer's facility in the state of São Paulo and will serve as a complement to Saab's final assembly line in Linköping - to meet global demand for the Swedish fighter aircraft.
Brazil has previously agreed to purchase 36 Gripen E/F models. Brazil has also expressed a desire to purchase an additional 20 Gripen aircraft.
The first plane manufactured in Brazil was unveiled in March this year.
