This will be done, among other things, through ID verification requirements. It will still be possible to use an alias on the platforms, but law enforcement authorities will be able to find out who is behind a particular account.
"We would never accept Nazis standing and cheering on a playground. But it happens completely openly on gaming platforms, for example," says S's legal policy spokesperson Teresa Carvalho.
She mentions big games like Roblox, Fortnite, and Minecraft.
S also wants to see sanctions against those who do not behave, moderators in the forums, a flagging system and stricter procedures when a child is exposed. The system of so-called digital watchdogs also needs to be expanded in Sweden.
