Rydström was fired from Malmö FF last fall and took over as head coach of the Columbus Crew in Major League Soccer (MLS) at the turn of the year. But it wasn't until last night that he got his first win with his new club.
After five games without a win, the team's first three points of the season came when Columbus beat Atlanta United 3–1 on the road. Former Sirius striker Wessam Abou Ali scored two of the goals.
"We felt like we deserved it, because we really fought for it and yes, it's about winning games. So it's a fantastic feeling," Henrik Rydström told mlssoccer.com.
