It was an eventful World Cup break for Hammarby. In early June, coach Kalle Karlsson was fired and replaced by Henrik Rydström.
The coaching change had an immediate effect as the green and whites entered the fall season. Hammarby broke a three-game losing streak and won 2-1 against Elfsborg after goals from Paulos Abraham and Montader Majed. Goal scorer Abraham is happy with what the team has gotten out of the coaching change so far.
It brought calm to the group when he came to us, he brought energy straight away, he tells TV4.
The victory means that Hammarby moved up to second place in a cramped table, nine points behind Sirius. Elfsborg remains in fourth place.
