One is ruining the mood, before the plane has even taken off, when one attacks already stressed passengers, says the union's chairman Joachim Vaquez Bürger to the news agency DPA.

The compensation for the staff is increased from the current 1.5 pounds, equivalent to just over 19 kronor, to 2.5 pounds, equivalent to just over 32 kronor, per bag. The increase comes into effect in November.

Passengers flying with Ryanair are currently allowed to bring a small bag on board without extra cost, but can get expensive additional fees if the bag exceeds the permitted limit.
