Ryanair reports larger-than-expected 34% drop in quarterly profit

During the corresponding quarter last year, Ryanair made a profit of 820 million euros.

The 34 percent profit drop was larger than expected. The average forecast was for a net profit of 624 million euros, according to a compilation of forecasts by Bloomberg.

Operating income for the quarter rose to EUR 4.4 billion, up from EUR 4.3 billion a year earlier. This was in line with forecasts.
