Ryanair profit rises as demand remains strong

Sales for the financial year that ended in March increased by 11 percent year-on-year to 15.54 billion euros. Profit after tax rose by 40 percent to 2.26 billion euros.

"The conflict in the Middle East has created economic uncertainty. Despite this, Europe still has relatively good access to jet fuel," O'Leary says.

Ryanair has hedged 80 percent of its fuel, paying $67 per barrel until April 2027.

"It will protect the group's results in the highly volatile oil market and increase the cost advantage over European competitors," O'Leary says.
