The airline Ryanair will soon allow larger hand luggage, reports Sky News.

Passengers traveling with Ryanair are allowed to bring one piece of hand luggage at no cost. The airline now announces that the maximum volume of the luggage is changed from 20 to 24 liters – an increase of 20 percent.

The change comes after an EU directive. It means that Ryanair is exceeding the EU's recommended minimum level for the size of hand luggage.

The new rules are expected to come into force within the next few weeks.
