The laureate described the two-part motif as a symbol of the "tension between peace and defense."
The Printpower award, organized by the industry organization Grafiska Företagen, attracted 214 competitors. The theme was “For Sweden in Time” and the motifs also included a puppet government led by Jimmie Åkesson (SD) and three wilted flowers in the shape of Sweden's three crowns.
"The posters challenge the view of Sweden today and show the enormous social commitment that exists among young designers," said Eva Glückman, CEO of Grafiska Företagen, in a press release.
