The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) announced on Monday that it is lifting restrictions on Russia and that Russian athletes will once again be allowed to participate in international competitions under their own flag and national anthem. The decision will take effect on July 28.
"The ITTF Board has decided that athletes with Russian passports should be reinstated and allowed to participate in ITTF table tennis and para table tennis events on the same terms and conditions as all athletes," the federation wrote in a statement.
At the same time, the federation writes that Russian players must meet current anti-doping requirements and be included in the federation's testing programme.
