Russian ruble strongest against the US dollar so far in the second quarter

The reason is a sharp increase in Russia's foreign exchange inflows from oil sales after the outbreak of war in the Middle East on February 28 this year.

The ruble has risen about 12 percent since the beginning of April to 72.6 rubles per dollar, the strongest level since February 2023, according to calculations by the Bloomberg news agency.
