Russia directed several missiles and drones towards the Ukrainian capital Kiev and its surroundings on Monday evening, but were stopped by air defense, according to local authorities.
The attacks began shortly after 11 pm local time.
"The enemy carried out a missile attack in the direction of Kiev and its outskirts", writes the military administration chief in Kiev, Serhij Popko, on Telegram.
According to Popko, the air defense managed to shoot down all missiles.
No one is reported to have been injured or killed.
Kiev has reported several intense air attacks in recent weeks, including a Russian missile attack that destroyed part of a children's hospital.
Last week, Russia also launched 89 drones against Ukraine – one of the largest drone attacks so far during the war. About 40 of them were shot down over Kiev.
