Nadezhdin is accused, among other things, of spreading "false information" about the Russian government's policies and decisions, as well as about Russia's electoral system.
I will continue to fight," Nadezhdin told the Telegram channel Ostorozhno Novosti.
He also says he will continue to run in elections to the lower house, the Duma. But under a 2024 amendment to the law, “foreign agents” are banned from running in elections.
Two years ago, Russia's Supreme Court stopped Nadezhdin from running in the presidential election, despite his having collected the 100,000 signatures required to qualify.
