Russia’s Flight Alert App Hit by ‘Massive Cyberattack,’ Authorities Warn of False Information

Russian authorities say that an app used, among other things, for flight alerts has been subjected to a “massive cyberattack.”

According to the country's Ministry of Emergency Situations, false information may be sent via the app. It is not clear what information was sent.

The state-controlled Tass news agency reported that work was underway to regain control of the app.

Just hours earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force warned that a similar app in Ukraine had been hacked.

On Sunday evening, people were warned of the danger of radioactive radiation and street fighting in the capital, Kyiv. The alarms later turned out to be false.
