The Armed Forces' Chief of Operations Ewa Skoog Haslum confirms to SVT that the Russian flights occurred close together in time and that the plane turned just a few hundred meters from the Swedish border, east of Landsort in the Stockholm archipelago, and outside Karlskrona.

"The fact that this is being done so spectacularly by the Russian side is remarkable and serious," she tells SVT.

Following the incident, the Air Force's incident preparedness was activated, and two Gripen jets intercepted the Russian fighter planes and issued radio warnings to them.
