The incident occurred near the border crossing in Dorohusk, “about 800 meters from the Polish border,” Major Dariusz Sienicki, a spokesperson for the border police, told the Polish news site Wirtualna Polska, TVP World reports.
"This is Putin's terror 'knocking' on the doors of the EU and NATO. Russian barbarians are standing at your doorstep, dear partners," Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha wrote on X.
The border crossing in Dorohusk was temporarily closed but has now reopened. No one in Poland was reportedly injured. The incident was part of a larger Russian attack on Ukraine overnight.
