Ukrainian authorities confirm late on Sunday the number of injured and killed in last night's Russian attack, mainly against Kyiv. Three people were killed and over 30 injured, including seven children, in the drone attacks against the capital.

The Ukrainian reports come from President Volodymyr Zelenskyj in his evening broadcast to the Ukrainians.

During a week, Russia has carried out nearly 1,200 drone attacks and (fired) 50 missiles of various types – of which most were ballistic, said Zelenskyj.

Kyiv's mayor Vitalij Klytjko said that parts of a Russian drone fell into a nine-story residential building, and that several floors caught fire. Another building with 16 floors was hit in the attacks with damage to at least one apartment.

The attacks were carried out after a wave of air strikes on the night of Saturday, when at least four people were killed and around 20 people were injured in Kyiv.

Protection against this type of threat is a joint effort – no nation should have to be left alone in this, said Zelenskyj in his evening broadcast.
