Russia attacked the city with missiles early on Monday morning. The city's mayor Ihor Terechov says it's a "miracle" that no one was injured by them.
"Two ballistic missiles landed in the middle of a residential area in Kharkiv this morning. One near a multi-story house. The other struck a road, literally just a few dozen meters from a school", he writes in a post on Telegram with a picture of a large crater.
"A few meters more and the house would have been hit. A few minutes more and there would have been cars and buses on the road", the mayor continues.
Ukraine's air force has repeatedly warned of missile attacks in several Ukrainian regions during the night, including Kyiv.
