Russian drones attacked the city in southeastern Ukraine at least ten times, according to Governor Ivan Fedorov.
In images and videos taken late on Thursday, several damaged buildings and civilians receiving care after the attacks can be seen. Among other things, a university in the city suffered damage, Fedorov reports, according to The Kyiv Independent.
Zaporizhzhia, located near the frontline, has repeatedly been the target of deadly Russian attacks since the full-scale invasion in 2022.
During the night, Ukraine responded with a drone rain against Russia and Russian-occupied territories, reports news agency Ansa. According to state-run Russian Tass, Russian air defense shot down over 120 Ukrainian drones, most of them over Crimea.
