The death toll is rising after the Russian attacks on a hospital in the city of Sumy in Ukraine, according to regional authorities. At least nine people have been killed and twelve people are injured.

On Saturday morning, Russia attacked Sumy with three drones, two of which hit the hospital, according to the Ukrainian air force.

"Russia hit one of the city's hospitals with Shahed drones", writes Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj on Telegram.

South-east of Sumy, in the Kharkiv region, three people were killed in a Russian air raid on the village of Slatyne. Three more people were injured, according to the region's governor.

During the night to Saturday, Russia also attacked the Ukrainian capital Kiev with drones, according to Kiev's military leadership.

Around 20 Russian attack drones were shot down by the Ukrainian air force. Debris from the downed drones damaged buildings in the Obolon district, but it did not affect residential buildings.

The drones arrived in several waves and the air raid warning lasted for about three hours, according to the authorities. The attack is the tenth Russian air raid on Kiev since the beginning of September.
