The 22-year-old Olympic gold medalist Saveliy Korostelyov is on an updated list of Russian and Belarusian athletes who have been granted neutral status by FIS and are therefore allowed to compete under a neutral flag in the World Cup and World Championships. This is despite Russia’s ongoing war of aggression against Ukraine.
The list currently includes athletes in alpine skiing, ski jumping, cross-country skiing, Nordic combined, freestyle skiing and snowboarding.
A total of 46 athletes have now been approved to compete, and Korostelyov is one of four new cross-country skiers on the list.
Korostelyov impressed with fourth- and fifth-place finishes at the Olympics in Italy last winter.
