Loud explosions and persistent air raid sirens were heard in the capital Kyiv overnight, damaging buildings and injuring people.
Three people were killed on Wednesday and six were injured, Mayor Vitalii Klychko said on Telegram.
According to a regional government representative, Timur Tkachenko, a child has also been killed in an attack on a private house in Vyshhorod.
"Unfortunately, the body of a child was found under the rubble (...) This is a terrible tragedy," he writes on Telegram.
Russia's Defence Ministry says a "massive missile and drone attack" has been carried out against energy infrastructure in Kyiv and the surrounding region, AFP reports.
