Five people have been killed in a Ukrainian drone attack in Russia, near the border with Ukraine, Russian authorities claim.
The drone is said to have hit a house in a village in the Russian Kursk region, which borders Ukraine. Two of the five dead are reportedly children. Two more people are said to be seriously injured, according to the region's governor.
During the night, Russia shot down six Ukrainian drones, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
Both sides have extensively used drones throughout the conflict.
Ukraine has increased the number of drone attacks on Russian territory in recent months, primarily in border regions and against Russian energy facilities.
At the same time, one person was killed and twelve injured when a Russian drone hit an apartment building in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro on Friday. One of the injured is a seven-month-old baby, according to regional authorities.
In connection with the attack in Dnipro, Zelenskyj said that it was a reminder to Ukraine's allies that the country needed more air defense systems. During the night against Saturday, Ukraine shot down ten Russian drones, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
