Russia promises continued support for the military juntas in Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger, which have formed a regional alliance with strained relations with the West.
In a statement, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the country will continue its support to strengthen the "operational capacity" of the countries' armed forces.
The three countries in the Sahel region are ruled by military regimes that came to power in coups d'état between 2020 and 2023.
