In Kramatorsk, a glider bomb hit a residential building and started a fire. A child born in 2015 died in the attack, according to local authorities. Five other people were injured.

Russia also attacked the port city of Odessa in southern Ukraine with drones on Tuesday night, according to Mayor Hennadij Truchanov. Several civilians were also injured in Sumy in the north on Monday evening.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj announced late on Monday that new negotiations with Russia are underway on Wednesday, but few seem to believe that they will lead to anything concrete.

The Trump administration is trying to get the peace process going, which so far has been stalled because Russian President Vladimir Putin refuses to back down from his demands.

According to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitrij Peskov, they do not expect any "miraculous breakthroughs" from the talks.

The two previous talks were held in Istanbul, and according to Russian media, it will likely be the same location this time as well. Last time, in May and June, the talks led to some exchanges of prisoners of war and fallen soldiers, but otherwise, there were no results.

Ukraine's delegation will be led by the country's former Defense Minister Rustem Umjerov.
