"We are closely monitoring the situation with the Russian citizens working in the crews of both ships," the embassy writes in an email to P4 Malmöhus.
The embassy also states in its initial comments that the crew members will receive “all necessary consular assistance.”
The two ships, Caffa and Sea Owl I, are believed to be falsely flagged and part of the Russian so-called shadow fleet.
The Russian commanders of both ships are suspected of several crimes, and one of them is in custody.
