Very close ties have been established between the military and special services in the two countries, says Sergey Lavrov after talks with North Korea's Foreign Minister Choe Son-Hui in Moscow.

This will also make it possible to resolve important security goals for our citizens and yours, he claims.

Standing by Russia's side

North Korea will stand by Russia's side until Russia wins in Ukraine, says Choe Son-Hui.

We repeat that we will always stand by our Russian comrades' side until the day of victory, she says.

We have no doubts whatsoever that under the wise leadership of the esteemed Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Russian army and people will certainly achieve a great victory in their holy struggle to defend their state's sovereign rights and security.

Strengthening nuclear arsenal

North Korea will continue to strengthen its nuclear arsenal, she says, accusing the West of creating a "dangerous situation" on the Korean Peninsula that can become "explosive at any moment".

Thousands of North Korean soldiers have, according to reports from, among others, the USA and South Korea, arrived in the Kursk region of Russia, and are expected to be deployed in the war against Ukraine.

In an interview published in a Turkish newspaper on Friday, Sergey Lavrov says that the USA and Russia are very close to entering into "direct military conflict".

Under the current president, who has brought the downward spiral of Russophobia in the USA to its logical conclusion, our countries are on the brink of direct military conflict, he says to the newspaper Hürriyet.
