The drones were reportedly shot down over 26 Russian regions, including the capital region, as well as over the occupied Crimean Peninsula and the Black Sea.
US President Donald Trump has in recent days urged Ukraine to stop attacking Russian energy infrastructure. In an interview with the American television channel Newsmax on Thursday evening, he verbally attacked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"Zelensky is not a good guy for us to deal with. He says he wants to make up, but he doesn't," Trump said.
Russia also carried out attacks on Ukraine overnight, according to Ukraine's air defense.
