"We would like to emphasize that World Athletics' decision affects the fundamental interests of domestic athletics and restricts the right of Russian athletes to participate in competitions on discriminatory grounds," the RAF wrote in a statement.
World Athletics decided on Friday that Russian and Belarusian athletes remain completely banned, citing the "integrity and fairness of the competitions" following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympics, CAS decided that Russian and Belarusian skiers would be allowed to compete in Italy as neutral athletes.
The International Olympic Committee announced on Tuesday that Russian athletes will be allowed to participate starting with the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
