”I am grateful to everyone who returns our people. We are working to ensure that the exchanges continue until we have got everyone back”, writes Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj on the platform X on Friday.
The Russian Ministry of Defence also confirms the exchange and announces that Russian prisoners of war have returned home. But neither of the parties states how many prisoners it concerns.
It is the latest in a series of exchanges between the countries, within the framework of an agreement reached on June 2. Then, they agreed to release all seriously injured prisoners of war, all soldiers under 25 years of age and the remains of 6,000 fallen soldiers.
