"We are seeing high pressure on smaller apartments right now. Buyers want to secure their deal before the new mortgage rules come into effect, believing that prices will go up," says the site's housing market expert, Jennie Leffler, in a press release.
Over the past month, the average final price per square meter has reached SEK 76,700 for homes up to 40 square meters. This is an increase of 8 percent compared to the same period last year.
The price picture varies between different parts of the country. In Stockholm County, the average price per square meter was SEK 94,900.
The new mortgage rules that come into effect on April 1 may explain the price increase, according to Booli.
