Two runners suffered cardiac arrests during the Göteborgsvarvet, writes Göteborgs-Posten. One of the incidents occurred approximately 800 meters from the finish line at Villa Belparc.
According to the Göteborgsvarvet doctor Per Erikson, the man was discovered immediately and received care fairly promptly. A defibrillator quickly arrived at the scene, and the intervention is described as successful.
The person was conscious when they were sent to Sahlgrenska by ambulance, says Per Eriksson to the newspaper.
Another person suffered a cardiac arrest during the race, reports Eriksson. The person was taken care of by medical personnel and was conscious during the ambulance transport to Sahlgrenska hospital.
