It's about Florsheim, an unassuming but fairly well-regarded shoe brand dating back to the 19th century.
A pair of their men's shoes costs $145, just over 1,300 kronor. A bit simple for a real estate mogul from New York, perhaps - but lately, 79-year-old Donald Trump is said to have been looking for something more comfortable for his feet and fell for Florsheim.
“Too scared”
The president has become so fond of the brand that he has personally started ordering pairs of his new favorite shoes for his staff, according to sources at The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
"All the boys have them. It's hysterically funny because everyone is too scared not to wear them," a female White House staffer told the newspaper.
Marco Rubio, J.D. Vance, Pete Hegseth and Tucker Carlson are all said to have received the shoe gifts, along with other cabinet members, chiefs of staff, senators and Fox News personalities.
Guessing the size
But they have varying fits. Trump usually has fun guessing his staffers' shoe sizes, according to the WSJ.
Recently, photos of Marco Rubio - wearing a pair of well-polished and far too big Oxford shoes - have also been widely circulated.
Marco Rubio and J.D. Vance received their pairs at a meeting in the Oval Office, J.D. Vance has said.
After calling their shoes lousy, Trump allegedly picked up a catalog and asked about their size, according to Vance.
They are said to have replied 45 and 47, respectively. Trump is said to have leaned back and said:
You know, you can tell a lot about a man by his shoe size.
