Elin Rubensson is back in the football national team ahead of the decisive matches against France and England when the European Championship qualifying rounds conclude in July.
The 31-year-old midfielder left Häcken to play in Houston in the American league NWSL in the spring. During the last qualifying gathering at the turn of May-June and the victory matches against Ireland, Rubensson was absent.
Now she is back as one of Sweden's 27 players for the matches against France in Dijon on 12 July and against England in Göteborg four days later.
After four out of six matches in the European Championship qualifying rounds, Sweden stands on seven points, just like reigning European champions England. France tops the qualifying group with nine points.
The two top teams are directly qualified for the championship in Switzerland next summer. The third and fourth teams will play a playoff.
Corrected: In an earlier version, incorrect information was provided about which teams would play a playoff. The correct information is that both the third and fourth teams will play a playoff.
