The decision from American authorities came about two weeks ago and means that the company must stop its work on an offshore wind project off the US east coast. The wind farm is 80 percent completed and would open next year.
Now, the energy giant Ørsted is suing the Trump administration and taking the case to court in the hope of resuming the construction of the wind farm.
Also, the governor of Rhode Island, Dan McKee, has criticized the authorities' decision and claims that it affects several hundred jobs and has consequences for the energy supply for 350,000 households in Rhode Island and the neighboring state of Connecticut.
