The four-hour performance is described as a tribute to Gisèle Pelicot, whose story has shaken France and received international attention. The trial was ongoing against her husband who had drugged her and for ten years allowed around 50 men to subject her to sexual abuse. The Royal Dramatic Theatre's performance will be played on December 9 with "a large number of actors from The Royal Dramatic Theatre's ensemble".
The director Milo Rau and the playwright Servane Dècle have collaborated with the Pelicot family's lawyers, the court, psychological experts, legal commentators, witnesses and feminist organizations in the work.
The performance is also free of charge and offers the audience to "come and go as they please".
