Sweden's and Denmark's royal couple initiate the celebration by attending an arrangement with specially invited guests at Luftkastellet near the bridge abutment on the Swedish side.
Then they drive in a cortege across the bridge and make a stop on the artificial island Pepparholm, which is part of the Öresund Link.
"With pride and honor, we welcome the royal couple of Sweden and Denmark to the Øresund Bridge's anniversary celebration. We are delighted to celebrate this milestone together and look back on the years our countries have been connected", says CEO Linus Eriksson in a press release from the Öresund Bridge.
Even when the Öresund Bridge was inaugurated on July 1, 2000, Sweden's royal couple and Denmark's then reigning royal couple met on the bridge.
