Rowan Atkinson to bring Blackadder back in new London show

Blackadder is making a comeback. The iconic character from the TV classic “Blackadder” will return when Rowan Atkinson stages a new show in February.

Atkinson is once again collaborating with screenwriters Richard Curtis and Ben Elton on the show in London, where the comedian will perform new and old sketches featuring his best-known characters. The show will include Blackadder, Mr. Bean and classic sketches from the satirical programme "Not the Nine O’Clock News".

"I thought it would be fun to do the old sketches that were the start of everything for me and Richard Curtis," Atkinson told The Guardian.

In "Blackadder," which aired between 1983 and 1989, Rowan Atkinson played Blackadder, a scheming power player across four eras of British history, from the 15th century to the First World War.
