Personnel and units from up to seven fire stations worked to extinguish the fire.

It started in a car and has then spread to a property located in the middle of the row of houses, said Patrik Tomaselli, incident commander at Södertörn's fire defense association, around 01.

The fire spread to two more residences before the rescue service got control over the flames at around 04. After that, they began to scale down the operation.

There is no information about personal injuries. The police have initiated a preliminary investigation regarding gross arson and searched the area during the night for suspected perpetrators.

In parallel with that, we are conducting interviews, emptying cameras and taking other investigative measures, said Per Fahlström, press spokesperson for the police.

The alarm about the fire came just before midnight.
